Canadian Rockies Escape by RailTour Spectacular Scenery on a Canadian Rockies Vacation
On your next vacation, escape from the city and enter a wonderland of rare beauty! If you're looking for that place where snow-covered mountains, rugged canyons and glacier-fed lakes and streams rule the land, you'll love the Canadian Rockies. In Canada's western province of Alberta, the Rocky Mountain Range cuts through the earth, creating a striking terrain too beautiful to describe. With our Canadian Rockies Explorer, you'll have 7 days and 6 nights of sheer bliss as your Rocky Mountaineer train whisks you to the quaint towns that line Alberta's Rocky Mountains. This Canadian Rockies vacation is filled with tours that highlight the famous natural landforms and national parks of the Canadian Rockies, so you'll get a chance to see the best of it all - in one easy vacation package! Glide to Kamloops Aboard the Rocky Mountaineer Train
From Vancouver, British Columbia, your Rockies vacation begins as you board the luxurious Rocky Mountaineer passenger train at Vancouver's Pacific Central Station. As you make your way west to Kamloops, British Columbia, you'll pass through the fertile fields of the Fraser River Valley and towering peaks of the Coastal Mountains. Here, the Fraser River violently passes through Hell's Gate, creating stunning landforms visible from the comfort of your seat. During your overnight stay in Kamloops, visit the Two River Junction Dinner And Musical Revue for some live Canadian entertainment! Climb the Mountains into Jasper National Park
On day three of your Canadian Rockies vacation, you'll board the Rocky Mountaineer again and head toward Jasper, Alberta. Making your way through the rugged terrain, you'll see Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies! At 12,972 feet, Mount Robson will thrill you as you climb over Yellowhead Pass - a six million acre recreational park. At the end of Yellowhead Pass sits Jasper National Park - the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies and one of North America's largest natural areas. Tour the Magnificent Icefields Parkway En Route to Lake Louise
The fourth day of your Canadian Rockies vacation brings you to the famous Lake Louise. Your deluxe motorcoach will take the Icefields Parkway to Lake Louise. The Icefields Parkway is a famous national highway lined with a set of rare glaciers, exposing panoramic views of the glacial landscape, native wildlife and the Rocky Mountains. Explore Rare Landforms at Yoho National Park
On day five, you will join a half-day tour that takes you into Yoho National Park to view the natural wonders. Yoho, the native Cree word expressing awe, is filled with gem-colored lakes, waterfalls, dense woods and snow-covered peaks. Among the attractions on your tour are the Emerald Lake and a natural rock bridge that spans the Kicking Horse River. You'll also get a close-up look at the famous Spiral Tunnels, designed by the Canadian Pacific Railway to reduce the high grades the trains had to climb in order to make the Kicking Horse pass. Journey Through the Continental Divide from Banff to Kamloops
Day six of your Rocky Mountain vacation will lead you through the mountains and back to Kamloops, BC. As your railcoach transfers you from Banff to Kamloops, you will pass the Continental Divide, which spans from Mexico to Canada. You'll have one last look at the Spiral Tunnels and Kicking Horse Canyon, as well as Rogers Pass and Craigellachie - where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was finally driven in 1885. Upon arrival in Kamloops, you'll be transferred to your overnight accommodation. The rest of the day is yours to explore the city of Kamloops. Ride in Style One Last Time to Vancouver
On the last day of your Rocky Mountains tour, you will board the Rocky Mountaineer one last time for the scenic trip back to Vancouver. Spend some time exploring the city or head back to home sweet home. If time allows, check out the towering Vancouver Lookout for a panoramic view of the city!
